The Surf Retail Federation held the 2012 Australian Surf Industry Awards, a Gala Black Tie Dinner, at the Novotel Manly overlooking Manly Beach.

One of the big winners on the night was Torquay based surf store Strapper Surf. Strapper Surf took out two awards for the night, the first being for Victorian / Tasmanian Surf Shop of the Year for all three Strapper stores and the second was a National Award for Strapper Surf Torquay, taking out the Australian Core Surfboard Store of the Year.
A stoked Michael Di Sciascio, owner of Strapper Surf, accepted both awards and said “I am blown away to receive these two awards, let alone be nominated by our loyal customers and the Surf
Industry. This is a credit to my fantastic staff and their shared passion for surfing. We are committed to our Surfboard Factory behind our Torquay shop and always strive to do our best for our customers”.

The Retail Awards nomination and voting process
